What Is Sebum?

Sebum is the natural oil mixture produced by the skin’s sebaceous glands. It is often associated with shine, but it also plays a role in skin comfort and barrier function.

Why Does Sebum Increase?

Genetics, hormones, stress, weather and harsh cleansing habits can affect how oily the skin feels. When the skin is stripped, it may feel even more unbalanced.

Does Oily Skin Need Moisturizer?

Yes. Oily skin still needs hydration and barrier support. Lightweight gels or lotions can help maintain comfort without a heavy feel.

The Goal

The goal is not to remove all oil, but to support a more balanced-looking skin surface.
